About the Artist

Loretta (Lori) Jeremiah

Rhode Island Artist
Pastel and Watercolor

Rocky shores, crashing waves, waterfalls, sunlit paths and beautiful faces...the possibilities for artistic inspiration in nature are endless. Striving to paint the surrounding beauty is never ending and always challenging. The sparkle of light, the lively shadows, the quiet mood all last but a moment in time but can last indefinitely in a painting.
I strive to capture those fleeting moments, often brief and unexpected, in my paintings. Pastel and watercolor are the mediums that I use to convey this personal vision. I hope that my paintings are like a glance that beckons you to stop and linger for a moment.

My artwork can be found in many public and private collections, juried exhibitions, solo and group exhibits, and has earned numerous awards. Portrait paintings in pastel include four in a traveling exhibit for the Rare Disease Foundation: Beyond the Diagnosis Art Exhibit; a portrait of Maury Loontjens which is on permanent display at the Maury Loontjens (Narragansett, RI) library; a portrait of the founder of Aikido, O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, which has been sold in prints in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia. Four watercolor paintings have been featured in a newly published book, A Watercolour a Day, by Oscar Asensio, Promopress Publishers (promopresseditions.com), sold in Spain and the United States.
